With the return of sunny weather, match activity in May returned to typical tournament levels, reaching a total of 138 matches.

The top of the leaderboard was quite lively, with Tiago Macedo, Rogério Franco, João Pedro Godinho, Luís Rodrigues, and David Reynolds all taking turns in the lead.

Thus, at the end of the ninth month of the tournament, the top three standings were as follows:

Among the female players, Paula Zoio, ranked 27th, maintains the lead with 1148 points, followed in 80th place by Hania Younis, with 123 points.

As expected, May was rich in tightly contested matches, with the following games standing out:

Notably, Jorge Jesus appears in three matches, and both Pedro Martins and Tiago Macedo appear in two matches each on the list of the most closely contested games.

The biggest ranking leap of the month was achieved by Romullo Menezes, who, after a victory over Romain Pereira, jumped from 102nd to 44th place—an impressive climb of 58 spots. Also worth noting are the rises of João Mestre (from 104th to 58th), João Martins (from 57th to 18th), and Mateus Almeida (from 40th to 4th).

May was marked by two important milestones in the number of matches played: Paula Zoio reached 400 matches, while Ricardo Enguiça completed his 200th match.

Thus, in the list of players with the most matches played in the CTPL network, Paula Zoio holds the 22nd position (1st among female players), and Ricardo Enguiça holds the 42nd position.

I Torneio Social JET TRAVEL

 

 

The I JET TRAVEL Social Tournament took place on the weekend of May 17 and 18, organized by member Jorge Jesus.

The tournament had the unique feature of being played in teams of three players, in a format inspired by the Davis Cup, consisting of a singles match and a doubles match. Participation was remarkable, with 42 players registered, representing 14 teams, which are presented below:

On the first day of the tournament, the regular phase took place, during which each team played three matches. Each match was played in two super tie-breaks up to 15 points, and in the case of a draw, a decisive tie-break to 7 points was used.

At the end of the first day of competition, the teams Net Kings, Smashes & Amorties, Big 3, and Tripla Falta emerged as the strongest, qualifying to compete for the top four places in the tournament.
